It was only 26 degrees early this morning but warmed up to the low 60s quickly, and after a monster breakfast of eggs Benedict, salmon, hash browns, coffee and orange juice, it was time to check out this magnificent scenery.
The road to Emerald Bay was truly epic, and with the top down the ride could not have been any better. The great exhaust sounds were blasting off the rock walls and probably reached the other side of the lake! The speed limit is 35, but that's just a general guideline, and impossible to obey when there are 550 horses stampeding to be let loose. As I rounded one of the hundreds of turns, a tall blonde, outdoorsy and fit, was just exiting her SUV at a View Point; she heard the Ferrari screaming down the hill and turned to see what it was, and immediately let out a woo-hoo holler and raise both arm to the sky. I love it when that happens. I like to bring joy to lovely ladies, one way or another...
The temps were so perfect, the sky brilliantly clear, and the traffic was nil, so I took a couple of trips through the small town of South Lake Tahoe. Top down, low speed, just cruising the neighborhood, soaking up rays and totally enjoying it all.
